About "Quaoar from Weywot"
This illustration shows Quaoar and its rings seen from the surface of its moon, Weywot. Quaoar is a dwarf planet located 6.5 billion kilometres from Earth in the Kuiper Belt. Quaoar's rings are composed of debris and were discovered through a series of observations between 2018 and 2021. The thicker of the two rings, the outermost one, is very irregular — much thicker in some parts, and also invisible in others. Quaoar is about 1100 km in diameter and slightly ellipsoidal in shape. Waywot orbits at a distance of 13,000 km.Details
